The Memory Wall
I Remember When…
A living scrapbook where family and friends share their treasured recollections of Warwick — stories, photographs, letters, and voices preserved for generations to come.

Hat in Kelso Square
A few days after Dad's funeral, Wayne and I parked in Kelso Square. As we walked away, Wayne noticed a hat resting on top of a parking meter. We both stood still. It was exactly the same style of hat that Dad, Warwick Woodhead, always wore. We couldn't explain why it was there, or who had left it. It simply appeared at a moment when we were missing him more than words could say. Coincidence? Perhaps. But for us, it felt like a gentle reminder that those we love are never truly far away.

For Bayllie- Poem written by his great Pupa Warwick
I dreamed a dream last night As I had never dreamed before I dreamt I was at Botany Bay Standing on the shore I had a walk around And was sitting on a boulder When a young youth came up to me And tapped me on the shoulder He was a strapping lad Bronzed with thick red hair Just like my mother had I almost thought that she was there I asked him what his name was And he said that it was Bayllie I thought that is my great great grandson Then it all came back to me I thought you'll be a rugby player And hoped that he would Follow in the footsteps of his father In a way that siblings should The great white shark springs to mind With Gavin Hastings by his side Flying Scotsman speeding down the line To beat the Aussie pride My great grandfather was born way back in 1839 So the family tree is flourishing And his descendants doing fine That's the beauty of growing old Watching the future generations grow To be proud of the seed you've sown It makes the chest swell out you know So Peta, Greg and Bayllie You've got a job to do And I'm sure you'll do it well It's really up to you AND BAYLLIE when you play for Scotland As I am sure that you will do Remember that there will be thousands Of Borderers Cheering lovingly for YOU
